Gothic Birthday Hues

These were ordered for a friend's 21st hatch day. Frankly, the amount of black colour paste added to get the right tone appalled me! I felt the colours were gothic - pink and black. What say you?

I just read an article where a woman brought cupcakes to her work, a gym, for her birthday. Everyone loved them so much she brought in more and different really unique kinds too!

Hi Jeremy, thanks for the link to the article. :) Cheers to cupcakes!

Pink is not a Gothic color...if it was red and black or purple and black....those are Gothic colors....

how do you make your buttercream? Mine never comes out right. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Katerina,

Try searching for recipes for meringue buttercream.

Did you start with chocalate frosting for the black? You use less food coloring paste that way. I am making what I call "The Gothic Cupcake Tower of Doom" for my daughter's 13th birthday party with a red and black color theme.

Hi anonymous,

Thank you so much for your idea! I will try it the next time I need to make black buttercream. *Hugs and kisses*
